We want to create health agency with law backing – Yobe assembly 

Yobe state Assembly Committee chairman on Health said the state want to create an Emergency Medical Ambulance Agency (YEMABUS) in order to have an agency that have backing of law for public and private health facilities to provide services that are standard.

Yobe state House of stated this Wednesday in Damaturu during a one- day public hearing on a bill for a law to provide the  establishment of Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Agency(YEMABUS) and other matters related thereto.

The hearing also highlighted the establishment of Yobe State Healthcare and Health -Related Facilities Regulatory Agency for Registration, Inspection, Accreditation and Monitoring of Facilities on Standards and Quality and for other matters related therewith.

Ajiya Maina said, the agency if established would take care of emergencies.

 He stated that while the Facility Regulatory Agency would be regulating public and private health facilities to ensure that services are rendered within the facilities are to the standard.

“We already have a committee that taking care of those activities,but now want to create an agency so that we can have backing law that would give them the backing so that all facilities both public and private should have providing services that are standard,” said the health committee chairman.
