We won’t frustrate Tambuwal’s govt – Sokoto assembly

Sokoto state House of Assembly has assured that it won’t work against the administration of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to develop the state and make life better for the people.

Accordingly, the house reassured the Peoples Democratic Party led government (whose members are not in the majority) of its loyalty and support to the executive arm of government for the progress and development of the state.

The speaker of the state assembly, Hon Aminu Mohammed Achida, stated this Thursday when he led members of the house to pay Sallah homage to the Government House in Sokoto.

Achida disclosed that what remains uppermost to each of the members mind is uplifting the state and improving the infrastructural indices of the state as well as an improved welfare of the people.

Further, he assured that every member is ready to cooperate and contribute towards whatever lofty goals the government wishes to attain.

The speaker praised the existing cordial relationship between the executive and legislature in the state, assuring that the tempo would be sustained.

Meanwhile, the governor has commended the house members for so far acting in unity especially in the interest of the state.

As an example of the unity of purpose, he particularly lauded Honourable Abdullahi Garba, who, he said, accepted to work together with others after the emergence of the speaker of the 9th Assembly.

He explained that now that politics is over, his administration would relate with each of them without party differences, saying his doors would always be opened to them especially on issues relating to their various constituencies.

Tambuwal thank God for the house on the release of one of the member of the house, Aminu Magaji Bodai, who was abducted by bandits.

Bodai, who represents Dange Shuni state constituency, was recently abducted by bandits and assured that government is taking adequate measures of addressing the security challenges confronting the state.
