Welfare of Nigerians remains Buhari’s priority – Malami

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has said the welfare of the Nigerian populace remains the utmost priority of the President Buhari-led administration.
The AGF, who stated this yesterday, said “the major significance of this project is about the welfare of the people.
As you know, before this project came to be, there were loss of lives and properties.
Consequently, it is about bringing the desired conducive environment, as a way of helping our citizen overcome incessant tension and apprehension.” Malami made this statement during the commissioning and handing over of the Nasarawa erosion and road improvement works of about 2.5km which comprises Phases I and II across the communities in Nasarawa town of Nassarawa state.
He explained that about 63 similar projects have so far been commissioned by the Buhari government across the nation.
“This project which is one of the 26 Federal government’s ecological intervention projects for the 1stquarter 2017 was approved by Mr President and was awarded by the Federal Executive Council in 2017.
“It is expected to check the age-long problems of flooding and erosion menace in the town.
I have no doubts in my mind that this government intervention will bring a huge relief to the communities which have for a very long time been stressed by these ecological challenges.
“This ecological project goes to tell you that this government believes in providing immediate succor to the people whenever there are challenges,” he stated.

Apart from helping to create job opportunities for indigent artisans, it has been able to address erosion and flood related problems in our communities.” In his own remarks, Nassarawa state Governor, Umar Tanko AlMakura, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Randolph Para, thanked President Buhari for his foresight, saying that with his purposeful leadership, Nigeria environment would be protected from future natural disasters.
