We’ll continue to prioritise education in Nasarawa – Sule


Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state, Saturday, declared that his administration would continue to prioritise education in the state.
He stated this at the occasion organised by the Aliyu Bello educational charity foundation to celebrate the approval of the appointments of newly 2,500 teachers in the state.


The governor who was represented by his Senior special adviser on special duties,  Mr. Murtala Lamus, said the top most priority of his administration was to ensure the rise in the standard of education in the state.
“Education remained the key to societal growth. Education would ensure that people embrace development,” he said.


He charged the people of the state to support the government in its efforts to develop the state to a greater height.
Also speaking, deputy majority leader, Nasarawa state house of assembly and chairman house committee on education Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi appreciated the Aliyu Bello charity foundation for his commitment towards boosting the education sector in the state and urged him to continue with the spirit.


He equally enjoined the newly appointed teachers to change the narrative in the education sector in the state, just as he charged them to fill the gap created in the education sector of the state by impacting quality knowledge to the students.
Founder of Aliyu Bello charity foundation and the state All Progressives Congress (APC) secretary, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, charged the new 2,500 teachers to reciprocate the good gesture done to them by governor Abdullahi Sule.


He charged them to turn around the teaching profession to its rightful place in the state, adding, “I am happy to inform you that the present teachers in my foundation are mostly beneficiaries of this employments.”
He also appreciated the former governor of Nasarawa state, Senator Umaru Almakura, for engaging 2,500 teachers during his tenure and commended governor Abdullahi Sule for approving the appointments of the engaged 2,500 teachers into the mean stream civil service of the state despite the mega resources accrued to the state.
