We’ll expose saboteurs of Zamfara peace initiatives – Matawalle

Zamfara state governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has raised the alarm over those he described as saboteurs of his peace reconciliation process.

Consequently, he has promised to expose the saboteurs soon to ensure that relative peace thrives in the state.

Matawalle stated this at a press conference Tuesday adding that his administration has every available record for those who are sabotaging the security issues in the state.

He called on security agencies, particularly SSS, to cooperate with his government in addressing the lingering insecurity challenge that the state is managing for almost a decade.

He cautioned politicians, particularly the opposition party to stop politicising the security issues in the state for peace to thrive.

“We must take all the necessary steps to expose those who are sabotaging our efforts, irrespective of their political affiliation, to secure the state from the activities of armed banditry, Kidnapping, cattle rustling and other forms of criminality for the revival of our socioeconomic growth,” he stated.

He said the peace reconciliation process initiated by his administration has yielded positive results as 99 percent of mass killings of innocent people by bandits have stopped. He added that provision was made to establish three Rural Grazing Areas (RUGA), one in each senatorial zone, in the state, by his administration. He added that the plan has reached advanced stage with a view to help herders resettle without any harassment.

He appealed to people of the state to support his administration in order to achieve the desired goals.
