We’ll make youth’s future a reality-Rep

Majority Leader, Federal House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has said that the National Assembly will make legislation to make the future of Nigerian youth a reality.

Doguwa stated this at the lunch of a song, titled ‘My Country’, performed by the Chief Executive Officer of Capacity Development Initiative for Africa Child, Bitrus Saleh, held at Kano state library, Monday.

He said Nigerian youth need to be celebrated by the legislators, adding that the lawmakers would do what is necessary to have their future in terms of education, health, leadership and wealth creation.

“The National Assembly is always there for Nigerian youth. You are the future of this country. Out doors are open for all your aspirations. We will make legislation to protect and make your future a reality,” Doguwa said.

On his part, Saleh said he created the song with the sole aim of fostering unity and love among Nigerians, especially youth who constituted majority of the population of the country.

He said he made the song voluntarily to preach peace and unity among Nigerian youth of diverse religion and culture.

He also stated that his NGO, which came into being two years ago, was initiated to serve humanity and combat social vices among youth through advocacy.

“We can see how drug abuse is taking its toll on our society. We see how it causes security challenges such as kidnapping, thuggery and rape among others. So, as youth, who think we have a bright future ahead, we should not fold our hands to see this menace thriving in our midst. We have to do something.

“Our NGO has engaged in advocacy visits to some secondary schools in Kano. We have visited traditional leaders and communities on drug abuse. We had face to face contact with the addicts and we have advocated for the dangers of drug abuse. We are recording success in this regard.

“We also meet political leaders on how to bring an end to societal vices and we shall continue. We will not rest, ” Saleh said.
