We’ll support NIS for greater results – Ganduje

Kano state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has assured the Assistant Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Kano state command, I. O. Yusuf, that his administration would continue to provide ‘what is needed to make the services of the Nigeria Immigration Service better.”

He said the state government was committed to joining hands with all service providers in the state to ensure effective delivery of their services for the interest of the people.

The governor gave the assurance through his deputy, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, at the official commissioning of Baban Dede Waiting area erected by some immigration officers at the Pass Port Office, Farm Centre.

“Just recently, the Kano state government provided an office to the Nigeria Immigration Kano state command at Dawakin Kudu for the creation of additional Passport office to ease its daily operations.

“For us in this administration, it is a strong conviction that public office holders must strive to deliver on their responsibilities for the growth and development of the people and places at any level of service,” he said.

On the Zainab Habib Aliyu in Saudi Arabia, Ganduje said, “I wish to extend the appreciation of Kano State Government and its people to the federal government under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari for what they have done recently on the release of Zainab Habib Ali who has been mistakenly arrested at Saudi Arabia and commend the collective effort of all the agencies that uncovered the evils planned against the young lady to save her life.”

Earlier, Yusuf said the project “is an initiative of the officers of the command who voluntarily contributed money to build the hall as identification of the policies and programmes of Ganduje’s administration which prioritise on the welfare of the people.”

He said: “This project was erected for the benefit of all categories of applicants who came for Pass Port in this office. It is meant to provide conducive atmosphere and very comfortable waiting area to the applicants while their applications are attended to.

“In this regard, we must express our sincere appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for all the support you have been giving to the command in many aspects of our operations.”
