We’re above desperation, tired smears, says El-Rufai firm

El-Rufai &Partners, a quantity surveying firm co-founded by former Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, yesterday said they were above desperation and tired smears by certain individuals.
El-Rufai was recently alleged by an online media to have benefited from some contracts through the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, at the apex bank.
Executive Chairman of the company, Hussaini Dikko, said the firm, which had been in business since 1982, was selected through a competitive bidding process, alongside another quantity surveying company, to offer its services on the Abuja Conference Centre project.
The statement said in compliance with due process, the project was advertised with calls for Expression of Interest published in national dailies for five services, including quantity surveying, adding that the “project client also hired other professional firms to provide services relevant to the construction project, including an architect, two mechanical engineers, two structural engineers, two electrical engineers and a project manager.”
It added: “The desperation that nudged criminals in high places to seek to tar others in ignoble mud is, alas, well and truly alive. Since CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi began drawing attention to illegal revenue leakages, an all out offensive has been launched against him by those who have reasons to be afraid.”
