We’re committed to strengthening national security architecture-FG

The federal government has reiterated its commitment in strengthening national security architecture with the aim of moving forward.

The permanent secretary ministry of interior, Mrs Geogina Ehuriah, stated this during the passing out of parade of the 44 immigration superintendent Basic course held at the immigration Training College in Kano over the weekend.

She explained that the ministry and the civil defiance, fire, immigration and prison services board maintained zero tolerance for misconducts, targeted at moving the sector forward.

She charged the graduants to remain guided by the trainings they received during the training, adding that the ministry of interior would ensure that genuine needs of its personnel were well catered for.

In his remark, the comptroller General of the Nigerian immigration services Mohammad Babandede said as a matter of deliberate effort to discharge statutory responsibility of the agency the service has taken steps in ensuring that borders were henceforth secured, so that Nigeria becomes safe for business and encourage foreigners’ inflow foreign investments.

He explained that between 2017 to date, over one thousand five hundred officers and Men of the service had been trained on modern techniques of border management targeted at enhancing the nation’s security.

The comptroller General added that Nigeria was looking in the direction of establishing a regional immigration Academy, which would train immigration personnel from the ECOWAS countries aimed at collaborating together in tackling the menace of illegal migration in the African sub region.

Earlier, the commandant of the Nigerian immigration Training school Mr Adekgoke said over 394 officers well trained officers of superintendent Basic course received training in the 44th course in kano.
