We’re not part of suit against Matawale – Zamfara IPAC

Fifteen political parties under the aegis of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) in Zamfara state have distanced themselves from the petition filed by the Action Peoples Party (APP) and its Governorship Candidate, Zayyanu Salisu Haske, at the elections petition tribunal court.

Haske and APP are challenging the election of the state Governor, Muhammad Mattawale, and seeking the nullification of the election.

Secretary, IPAC, Alhaji Musa Maimai, while announcing this at a press conference by the political parties, Friday in Gusau, condemned the development.

Maimai, who is also Chairman, Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Zamfara state, said the action of APP and its governorship candidate was undemocratic and uncalled for.

According to him, the party and its candidate are on their own because the petition is not in the interest of IPAC and people of Zamfara state.

He assured of the committee’s support for PDP-led administration under the leadership of Governor Matawalle, in the light of the administration’s gigantic effort in bringing positive changes particularly in the area of insecurity, agriculture, youth empowerment, good governance and inclusive government policies among others.

“We have to show our total unflinching support to Governor Matawalle considering the fact that he introduced an inclusive government policy for the development of our dear state and IPAC has distanced itself from any attempt made by some unpatriotic people challenging his landslide victory destined by God Almighty as our leader at the Supreme Court,” Maimai said.

He called on people of Zamfara state to remain loyal and support Governor Matawalle in order to enable him implemented his good policies and programs for the development of the state and their socio-economic integration.
