We‘ve empowered over 24,000 citizens since 2015- Ebonyi commissioner

Ebonyi state government Monday said it spent over 6 billion naira to empower over 24, 000 citizens of the state from 2015 till date.

The Commissioner for information and State Orientation, Barr. Uchenna Orji, who also is the acting Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, said the state empowered  both indigenes and non-indigenes.

Orji while briefing journalist in Abakaliki, noted that the individuals were empowered through the Ebonyi state Ministry of Human Capital Development and Monitoring , adding that more persons would benefit in 2020.

“The Governor has done a lot. Our people have been empowered and that is why insecurity has been reduced drastically in the state. The ongoing projects in different parts of the state are impacting positively on the security architecture of the state. Different categories and level of people have gone into agriculture.

“The Governor intends to do more for the people of the state. We are going to involve and cooperate with corporate organisations and private sectors to accelerate the economic programmes of the government,” he said.
