What Buhari told me after I returned as Justice Minister – Malami

The new Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has attributed his re-appointment as Minister in the ministry as endorsement of the collective contributions of all the ministry officials.

Malami gave the hint, Wednesday at a brief reception held in his honour at the minsitry’s conference room.

Led by the Permanent Secretary and Solicitor General, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr Dayo Apata, around 2.49 pm, Malami who strolled into the waiting hands of the ministry officials received a rousing reception from the officials.

While making a remark, Malami hailed the ministry officials for his return, noting that they have all contributed individually and collectively in the feat achieved by his three and a half years stint as minister.

He said, “My re-appointment as AGF and minister of justice is indeed an endorsement of your collective contributions to the development of our nation.

“After the inauguration, the president invited me exclusively and indeed further reiterated that he was indeed happy with the strides recorded by the ministry of justice.

“The president therefter encouraged us to do more in driving the policies of this government,” he added.

Malami who thanked the ministry staff for the gesture tasked everyone to strive to build a cordiality of relationship buoyed in mutual respect, mutual regards and mutual consideration in advancement of their respective course.

Earlier, Apata who gave a remark welcoming Malami back on behalf of the staff of the ministry noted that Malami exploits especially in the administration of justice in Nigeria has become a reference point.

Apata thereafter hailed president Buhari’s decision to re-appoint the minister to enable him complete what he started.
