What is good for Dapchi, good for Chibok

Dapchi village in Yobe state, was filled with excitement and wild jubilation following the release of some of the abducted students of the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, by the hands of ‘degraded, and technically defeated’ Boko Haram insurgents.
However, it is heart breaking to hear that five of the girls lost their lives, and one other, Leah Sharibu, was not released by her captors because she refused to renounce her faith.
As expected, the parents of the girls were overjoyed to be reunited with their girls, and the government appears to be relieved.
But after the relief comes the questions: who negotiated for the release of the girls? Was ransom paid for their release? What is the fate of Leah Sharibu? When will the remaining Chibok girls be released? As their custom is, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP) are at it again.
While the APC is beating its chest for being proactive regarding the Dapchi abduction, an abduction that should have never happened in the first place, unlike the handling of the Chibok abduction by the PDP-led government.
The PDP on its part is blaming the APC for allegedly stage-managing the Dapchi abduction in a bid to score cheap political point ahead of 2019.
Also, what was supposed to be a national victory might have turned sour due to so many conspiracy theories surrounding the “lost but found” girls.
The popular and most quoted is the “ lack of resistance theory “.
The propounders of this theory, led by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state are probing how the abduction and return of the girls took place without resistance.
To be fair to them, on the day of the kidnap of the Dapchi girls, soldiers deployed to the town were withdrawn.
Hours later, Boko Haram took their time to kidnap the girls.
Hours later the soldiers returned.
Another issue is what has been termed: The Triumphant Entry and Exit of Boko Haram.
On the day of the girl’s return, soldiers and security forces deployed to Dapchi were withdrawn again.
Hours later, the same Boko Haram insurgents we have been searching for with helicopters, fighter jets, drones, hunters, fishermen among others, took their time, flying the black flag of ISIS in broad daylight, and received ‘hero’s’ welcome, plus praise and worship from the people of Dapchi, returned the girls and went away unchallenged.
Meanwhile, since the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, claimed that instead of paying ransom, the federal government relied on ‘backchannel’ negotiations to ensure that the girls were released.
Face book users are of the opinion that the government should employ the same ‘back channel’ to secure the release of Leah Sharibu and the remaining Chibok girls, because what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Dapchi girls also took over Twitter Nigeria.

Heartbreaking is to hear 5 died.
What pain and tragedy! May God give their families fortitude to bear the loss.
The girls brought back would need lots of psychosocial therapy #BringBackOurGirls Dan-Borno @DanBorno It will be foolish to commend anybody for the release of #DapchiGirls because they ought not be captured in the first place.
