WHO urges community on regular sanitation

The World Health Organisation, (WHO), has urged the Karamajiji community on Airport road to put measures in place to ensure that there is regular sanitation activities in the market and at home to have a healthy environment.

The Head of Mission and representative of WHO in Nigeria, Dr. Walter Kasady Malambo, represented by the lead experts on Public Health and Environment, Dr. Headwinds, disclose this during the Community Sensitization and Cleaning Excercise in Commemoration of 2022 National Environmental Sanitation Day held at Chief Palace Karamajigi Airport Road, Abuja.

Dr. Kasady stated that Sanitation is so crucial to public health as is crucial to an individuals’ development and one of the indices of knowing whether a community or people is developing is the level of cleanliness.

“It enhances the dignity of a man and at the same time it also prevents so many diseases, even malaria which is very common in Nigeria when we clean our environments and ensure that waste water are properly channeled, there be no room for mosquito to breed and then cause malaria and so many other diseases.

WHO supported the activity with five rakes, the city’s sanitary dustbins which will be presented by host stakeholders as we will step outside.
