Why I am promoting fishing as a sport, Colby Blackwell

Fishing enthusiast and promoter of fishing as a relaxing sport,Colby Blackwell said people should take to fishing as a means of relaxation in order to be physically fit.
The 18 years old, who currently has over 1.7 million and over 30, 000 followers on YouTube and Instagram respectively learning how to engage in the sport said fishing can either be a relaxing hobby or an extreme sport.
He disclosed that he is currently working to become one of the most trusted names in extreme fishing adventures online.
While sharing one of his most unique videos in a Virtual Reality 360 degree Goliath Grouper catch and release, he said “I want to show people how fun fishing can be before they even get onto the boat. Fishing is truly a sport if you want it to be, and I want more people to get into it.”
Blackwell, who specializes in kayak fishing added that “The sport is intense. You need to be patient, technical, physically fit, and good at multitasking. There are so many things that have to happen on the kayak all at once, including paddling, balancing, steering, watching out for other boats, and, of course, fishing.”
In 2019, he caught two world record-sized fish on a kayak off the coast of Panama, one a massive 52’’ Cubera Snapper, while the other was a 50’’ Broomtail Grouper.
Commenting on the catch, he said “Off the coast of Panama is probably my favorite place to fish. There’s a huge variety of species just waiting to be caught, and the weather conditions change quickly. I can’t wait to go back there and find more record-breaking fish.”
Blackwell is also the first person to catch a Swordfish, Marlin, and Sailfish from a kayak. “Catching a new fish or a bigger fish is one of the best feelings in the world. I don’t even necessarily have to keep them to feel that sense of accomplishment. It’s mostly about the chase for me.” he told journalists.
Blackwell, who has several deep-sea kayak fishing trips lined up this summer, said “I can’t wait for the weather to get warm again so I can get back out there. It really is where I truly belong.”
