Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has said if elected in 2019, he would abolish the state and local governments’ joint account to ensure transparency.
Wadada, who made the promise at an interactive session with the executives of the Concerned Indigenes of Nasarawa state in Kaduna, yesterday, said “if elected come 2019, my administration would abolish the joint account system to enable the local governments function well.”

According to him, “local governments would be allowed to collect the monthly grant from the federation account directly to enable them carryout meaningful development projects at the grassroots.”
He said his administration would run an open-door to enable all indigenes to contribute to the development of the state.
Wadada explained that his administration would give special attention to education, health, agriculture, human development, and roads, among others.

The former member of the House of Representatives said “the state civil service under my control would be reformed and civil servants being the engine room would be trained so as to achieve the desired result.”
While answering another question, Wadada said “Nasarawa state is not a poor state; however, some areas were not properly harnessed,” adding that Nasarawa, being the Home of Solid Minerals, its indigenes would be encouraged to achieve more.

He commended the former governors of the state for doing their best in different areas “which I intend to build upon.”
Wadada specifically commended Governor Tanko Umaru Al-Makura for his giant strides in the development of the state.
Earlier, in his welcome address, chairman of the association, Malam Abdulkarim Sabo Keana, commended the aspirant and promised to give him the needed support and cooperation to ensure his victory in 2019.
