‘Why I’m interested in Imo Assembly seat’

An Imo state House of Assembly aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Chike Ofoma, has given reasons he is interested in running for a seat in the state legislature in 2015.
Ofoma, who hails from Nwangele state constituency, said one of the reasons was that the incumbent representative, Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, had consistently remained inconsistent in his political career and in the process abandoned the PDP which brought him to power to the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), thereby creating a vacuum.

“And since nature abhors vacuum, there is need for somebody to take up that mantle of representation,” he said.
The aspirant who is an aide to the member representing Nkwerre, Isu, Nwangele and Njaba Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Jones Onyereri, also believed that he had the necessary knowledge as a lawyer, political scientist, from political orientation and above all, as a serving legislative aide to the above mentioned federal lawmaker.

“So, I believe I have the necessary qualities with which to occupy the position.”
He gave the assurance that he would use the above mentioned qualities to attract projects that would impact positively on his people to at least tackle unemployment and empower youths.
He added that Nwangele constituency had high skilled manpower and that they needed to be engaged effectively to assist their families.
Ofoma, who recalled that he established an ICT centre in his development area while he was coordinator some years back, promised to replicate it in all communities in Nwangele and assist the traditional institutions in running their palaces.
