How my administration has fared, one year after – Nasarawa gov

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has explained how his administration has fared after one year in office.

He stated this at a media chat in LafiaFriday to mark his one-year anniversary in office, adding that if he had inherited enough funds from the previous administration, he would have performed better within his one-year administration.

Sule said paucity of funds was the reason he could not perform well and slowed down the pace work in the state.

The governor while responding to the question on how much he inherited from the previous administration, he said

“This is the question you would have asked the previous administration; that would have really been the ideal question for the last administration. But one thing I will tell you, if I had taken a lot of money, I would have done a lot of things.

“But the people who handed over to me I think some of them are still here as commissioners so you can ask them,” he said.

Sule, who was referring to a former commissioner for education during Senator Umaru Al-Makura’s administration and now the secretary to the state government, Aliyu Tijjani, said Tijjani was in better position to answer whether the previous administration left money in the state treasury or not.

He said if “it’s the will of God that I should serve the people of Nasarawa state for only a term, I will gladly accept it and retire to take a deserved rest.”

Sule boasted that no anti-graft agency would go after him after his tenure as he would not steal the people’s money.

According to him, he is preoccupied with ensuring good governance that will impact positively on the lives of the people and not seeking second term.
