Why Jonathan should run for 2015 elections, by PDP stalwart

Politicians have been urged to allow President Goodluck Jonathan seek re-election in the 2015 general elections in line with his moral and constitutional rights, as it would be unfair and unjust to deny him the chance, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Alhaji Maikudi Tela, has said.

Maikudi, who is the chairman of Campaign Movement for Jonathan/Sambo in Kaduna state, told reporters in Kaduna that Jonathan should be encouraged to run for the 2015 polls to enable him to complete the projects he started, adding that “election is a contest for the best candidate to emerge and if Goodluck is the best candidate nobody should disallow him.”
He said: “The constitution did not stop President Jonathan and his Vice Namadi Sambo from contesting or to seek re-election in 2015. So, it’s wrong for anybody to ask them not to contest since their administration is doing its best to solve most of the problems in the country.”

Speaking on the insecurity facing the country, he urged politicians to avoid making utterances capable of inciting people against each other because of their selfish interest.
Maikudi said the party was not bothered with the emergence of the All Progressive Congress (APC) because they never see APC as a threat in Kaduna and Nigeria in general, adding that they only needed to satisfy the peoples yearnings to be sure of their votes and support next year.
“Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero administration is doing a wonderful job in transforming Kaduna state to higher ground; all hands need to be on deck to ensure that PDP as a ruling party retain its position both in Kaduna and Nigeria as a whole.”
