Why should public schools reopen?

I have being searching and trying to find a logical reason why should these long neglected and unimportant places (public primary and secondary schools) full of poorly paid and hungry people (teachers) that no one cares about should open?
Why should a reasonable parent wish for his children to return to such dreaded places (public primary and secondary schools)? No drinking water, no basic toiletries? Why should anyone in his logical sense think these dilapidated places with widely agreed low self-esteem, lowly paid and grossly undervalued people (Teachers) be of anyone’s care?

No one worthy of consideration will argue that most if not all of the products of these places (public primary and secondary schools) can be considered as literates (being able to read, write and do some arithmetics) so why keep wasting valuable and scarce state’s money on these lots?
Thank God for this pandemic, everyone has seen how worthless and unimportant these people (teachers) and places (public primary and secondary schools) are!
