Super Eagles duo of Troost- Ekong and Samuel Kalu did not play a part when Nigeria took on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in Austria on Tuesday evening.
The defender and winger have been granted permission to leave the national team camp and return to their various clubs for varying reasons.
William Troost-Ekong was allowed to leave in order to prepare for Watford’s Championship game against Derby County on Friday. The center-back joined the English club this summer from Seria A club Udinese. He will be hoping to make his debut for the Hornets.
Bordeux winger Samuel Kalu returned to his club after sustaining a knock in Nigeria’s defeat against Algeria last Friday.
”Kalu was allowed to leave the camp and return to his club because of the knock he got in the game against Algeria,” Ibitoye told Brila FM.
“For Troost-Ekong he was permitted to go because he just joined a new club and they have a game on Friday so they want him to train with his team ahead of the game.
“So with these two players out we will have the chance to see new players for the game.”
Both players had started when Nigeria lost 1-0 to Algeria in the earlier friendly. The Super Eagles will look to get back to winning ways when they face off with their North African counterparts in Jacques Lemans Arena later today.
