Why we are supporting Nwifuru for Ebonyi guber  – Group

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a group, the FON Youth Movement, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ebonyi state, Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru (FON), is the best because of his good antecedents.

Speaking Monday in Abuja during the inauguration of the FCT chapter of the FON Youth Movement, the national president, Comrade Chinedu Emenike, said Nwifuru, who is presently the Speaker of the Ebonyi state House of Assembly, has shown  good understanding of how he can consolidate on the achievements of the present governor, David Nweze Umahi, with regards to infrastructure and human capital development.

He said: “It’s a good thing that people are starting to realise the good qualities of the governorship candidate of our great party, Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, who has proven to have the interest of Ebonyians at heart and availed himself to serve his people. My advice to the newly inaugurated executives of the FON movement, Abuja chapter, is to make use of the opportunity to serve.

“Though the APC has been  criticised at the federal level, FON has a good character and will consolidate on the achievements of the wonder working governor, David Nweze Umahi. It is not always about party, but individuals. Also, voters should know that a vote for FON is a vote for empowerment and dividends of democracy. They should not sell their votes to selfish candidates in other parties.”

The coordinator of FON Youth Movement, Comrade Nwiboko Peter Temple, said the group will mobilise Ebonyians in different parts of the FCT to ensure they travel home to vote for the APC governorship candidate in order to continue delivering dividends of democracy to Ebonyians.

“The good thing about the FON Youth Movement is that we have committed members. We are all willing to work to make sure we deliver our principal, the people’s choice. We will embark on a drive to ensure that people travel home to vote. It is one thing to support our candidate, but the voting will not be done here in Abuja. So, we will ensure people have their PVC and then vote for FON for a better Ebonyi state,” he said.
