In this interview, Bahtiyar Nalbant speaks on Nigeria’s business environment and its effects on his furniture business that has been around in the country since 2016. TOPE SUNDAY reports.
Why the choice of Nigeria as the destination point for your business?
To start with, I must say it’s been a wonderful experience doing business in Nigeria. And to your question, our aim was to bring our many years of experience in furniture production and marketing from Turkey to Nigeria by establishing a good, qualitative and modern factory in Abuja in 2016. So far, it’s been very rewarding venture as we presently have a total number of six showrooms in Abuja and Kano State for customer satisfaction and provide our customers with a conducive environment where they can feel safe and confident to get their furniture.
What excites you about your work?
We set out on this road to dream together with our customers. Our customers had dreams for quality and comfortable furniture for their homes and offices, thus, we established a company that can fulfill this dream and ensure they buy it with confidence. Looking back at what we have achieved so far gives us an immeasurable excitement to do more in a business friendly environment like Nigeria.
Are your products imported or made-in-Nigeria?
We have a fully fledged 5000m^2 factory at Idu industrial area Abuja with a high level functional and latest technologies and a well-trained personnel, and we produce all kinds of Sofa sets, dining sets, bed sets, office and kitchen cabinet. As a result, we also supply other furniture companies.
What are your future goals as a business concern?
Our Company’s biggest goal is to ensure the continuity of our customers’ trust in us. We are working hard not to disappoint our customers in this direction. That’s why our motto is “Don’t trust words, trust Baffi”. We also set to create more employment by raising production and sales capacity and being the leading company in this sector.
Based on our experience so far, most of our customers have chosen us because of the trust we provide, our quality products, friendly service, support and unique designs.
We believe these key attributes we embraced as our fundamental principles are and will always be the reason we are the preferred choice as a business.
