Why we chose Kano for May 26 NGE national convention – President

President Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Comrade Mustapha Isah, has said selecting Kano to host the national convention of the Guild is coming at the most appropriate time.

Speaking to journalists in Kano over the weekend shortly after the inauguration ceremony for the Local Organising Committee, he stated that Kano is peaceful, adding that there is no fear of insecurity in the state.

He stated that the LOC consists of seven  members  and chaired by Dr. Sule Yau Sule.

He said the committee is also saddled with the responsibility of securing accommodation and feeding for all members during the convention. It will also provide the venue of the meeting and any other issue it may deem necessary to have a successful Kano 2021 NGE convention.

Also speaking, the chairman of the LOC,  Dr. Sule Yau Sule, said the Kano state government will support the  Guild to have a successful convention.

He added that the committee is expected to start receiving members of the Guild on the 26th of May, 2021.

“The convention will take place on the 27th and tour of Kano state project by the members will be conducted on the 28th and 29th May, 2021.  

The LOC chairman said the committee will meet with the deputy governor of Kano state to discuss the arrangement for the tour.
