Without education, Nigerian music will continue to derail – Hypa Cee

The Nigeria music industry is limited because of lack of research and intentional education in the music industry.

Hypa Cee claimed that more music education should be encouraged within the school curriculum and more talent harnessed as early as possible.

Hypa Cee said Nigeria has an avalanche of talents that are not groomed. Talent without education is dangerous.

“This is why we have a lot of unharnessed talents and many who have abandoned their music talents completely.

“This is why we have a lot of talents venturing into crime and other activities that are destructive and destabilizing to the music industry.

“Many people rightly people think that the Nigerian music industry is limited because it does not have the same variety of talent as other industries. The truth is, there are talents in Nigeria which are still waiting to be discovered, educated, mentored most especially by the education system,” Hypa Cee said.

For Hypa Cee, Nigerians sometimes feel discouraged or depressed because they are unable to compete with artists from other countries and their success stories might seem unattainable. Nigeria is still behind America in hip hop and R’n’B. We can do more. This is because of poor education and low investment in the music industry.

Hypa Cee is a music and content manager that seriously has heart for the music industry. For him, with diligence combined with some necessary adjustments in approach and mindset, aspiring musicians from Nigeria can achieve huge success in the Nigerian music industry and abroad.

Hypa Cee maintained that the music industry is making progress today is because of the social media, the hard work of music talents and the acceptance of Nigerian music in the diaspora where our musicians win BET awards, Grammy Awards, and are invited to perform around the globe.

“Hypa Cee is a rising music maker that believes that the government should have a plan for the music industry,” he said.

For Hypa Cee, “a good plan is the best way to develop the country’s music industry.”

“The government can get inspiration from the work of other nations such as America and the United Kingdom, but it is important for you to know what your strengths are and what it is that you want to achieve a formidable music industry that can begin to generate more revenue as well as foreign direct investment,” he said.

Hypa Cee believes that the government should have a vision of where they want music industry to be in the next 10 years.

For Hypa Cee, “the government should design a strategy and tactics to educate, sponsor and groom music talents in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. As the population grows so the need for entertainment expands.
