Women urged to pay attention to daughters during long vacation

Women have been urged to pay attention to their children, especially the females in this period of long vacation.

President, St Peter’s Anglican Church Women’s Society, Enugwu-ukwu, Njikoka LGA of Anambra state, Mrs Chinweoke Mbachu, gave the advice while speaking at the closing of the church’s home and abroad women’s August annual meeting.

Mbachu said women needed to pay closer attention to development and safety of their children in view of the level of immorality and sexual decadence rampant in the society.

“Women, please try to share your time well so as to cover the home effectively. I do know we have working class and business tycoon mothers among us but the safety of our homes should be paramount,” she said.

Also speaking, Mrs Lois Okeke-Mbachu, a paediatric nurse with Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, said that women could expose their daughters to paedophile within their domain for lack of paying attention to them.

“Paedophile is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experience a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. Most child molesters are known to the children they abuse,” she added, stressing that greater number of children abused sexually were abused by family members, teachers and other closer persons.
