WYDEF urges synergy to promote value, economic devt

The national president, Western Youth Development Forum (WYDEF), Prince Oyedele Sunday, has called for greater cooperation and synergy among Nigerians for the unity and progress of the country.

He made the call Friday in Abuja during the conferment of Ambassador of Youth and Pillar of Support award and official decoration/investiture as life-patron in honour of Chief Oladele Alaka the Balogun of Gwagwalada in Gwagwalada.

He said the lack of cooperation among Nigerians “in our region is worsening the development growth of our regions and is seriously affecting the development of our youth.”

“We are appealing for greater synergy in the larger interest of our region and the youth. The Forum is out to orientate our youth to desist from unhealthy and inimical activities to the socio-economical development of our regions. We are calling on all our governors of our region irrespective of their political differences to work in synergy to boost the security and economic activities of the regions.

“We need to learn to work together irrespective of political propensities and distinctions, to change the narrative of the region for the benefit of the present and future generations. We are all one irrespective of tribe; so we need cooperation, forgiveness, love, and compassion to forge ahead,” he said.

He said the Forum would not be deterred, but “will take the bull by the horn and set the pace for a new Nigeria through effective leadership and focus on the progressive matters that unite us as a nation, rather than the retrogressive issues that divide us.”

Responding, the recipient, Chief (Ambassador) Oladele Alaka, promised to protect and promote the image of WYDEF and Nigeria at large.
