‘Yahoo boy’ on rampage again, picks Women pants in Anambra

A young man simply identified as Mr. Ifeanyi has been allegedly caught for stealing ladies pants at Mgbakwu, Awka north Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Ifeanyi, an indigene of Umuneke in Udi Local Goverrnment Area, Enugu State was allegedly caught by a woman whom he broke into her house to steal pant at about 2a.m on January 9, 2019.

The alleged culprit is believed to belong to rampaging Yahoo boys or acting as their agent.

“The woman raised an alarm and he was caught; his cloth tore as he was beating mercilessly by angry mob. He was later dumped at the popular Nkwo Mgbakwu market,” a source said at the scene where the suspect laid on ground gasping for breath.

He added that Ifeanyi earlier confessed of stealing about 58 pieces of ladies pants washed and spread by the owners at their respective homes but was caught in the act at one white color painted up-stair where both students and non-students live at Amaezike village in Mgbakwu.

The suspect, Mr Ifeanyi in an interview, told Blueprint that he usually steals women washed pants from the rope for an undisclosed business.

“I steal pants from women hostels. I wear it before I put on bosa and trouser,” said the suspect, but later, alleged “I used to sell them to Mr Emeka Ofor, who also hails from Umuneke Udi LGA at the rate of N500 (five hundred naira) per piece.”

He said he dropped out of class 2 of Senior Secondary school (SSII) because of health challenges, and pleaded for mercy, urging younger generation to desist from deviant behaviours and criminal acts.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State command, SP Haruna Muhammed, said the police had not been briefed of the development, and promised to make it public when they receive the information.

Reports of loss of pants of girls between the ages of 16 to 32 went viral since November 2018 when some Yahoo Boys (Internet fraudsters) owned up to the crime, leading some ladies in Delta State and other parts of the country into organizing religious programmes known as anointing service to pour oil on their inner wears before using them.

“As a rule now in my house, we pour anointing oil and sprinkle holy water on our pants before wearing them because of Yahoo Boys,” Alero, a female resident of Ubeji area of Warri, was quoted of mentioning on the media.

Ifeanyi who was left to go free confessed that he had sold the pants at the rate of N200, especially when confirmed that the owner has not committed any abortion, and buyers (users) allegedly use them for money rituals, which make owners to loose their wombs.
