‘Yansakai group killed 21 Fulani in Zamfara’

The outlawed Yansakai group terrorising Dangulbi District in Maru local government of Zamfara state have reportedly killed 21 Fulani settlers in parts of the local government.
The terror group is reportedly under the chairmanship of Alh.
Labaran of Kangon Garacci village in Dangulbi District of Maru local government council of the state said to have masterminded the killing of 21 innocent Fulani people in the area on Dangulbi market day yesterday.
Expressing their ordeal in an interview with Blueprint in Gusau, the state capital yesterday, some concerned Fulani settlers in the area who pleaded not to be mentioned said, the outlawed group roam freely with dangerous weapons searching for Fulani people in every market day.
He said within the last two months, the Yansakai group has been operating and persecuting innocent Fulani settlers in the area.
Some of those allegedly killed by the group within the last two months include Malam Shehu Dambawa, Malam Maigero of Sabuwar Kasuwa whom they killed and made away with his motorcycle; two boys from Kalale village, chairman of Ruwan Dinja hamlet, his brother and father whom they set on fire as well as two other boys from the village.
“On July 8 this year, they ambushed one person who sold his three cows, slaughtered him and made away with his motorcycle and money,” he said.
He accused the group under the chairmanship of one Alh.
Labaran of killing 13 Fulani elders between January and July and appealed to Zamfara and federal governments to come to their aid as the Yansakai group in the area were at the verge of eliminating them.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of Zamfara state Command, SP Muhammad Shehu, said already the command had directed all the Divisional Police Officers across the state to monitor each and every market day in their domain to ensure the protection of lives and properties of the citizens
