Yero, LG chair mourn Albani

Kaduna state Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has described the death of the Zaria-based Sheikh Albani as a great loss to the state and the country.
He made the disclosure when he led members of his cabinet on condolence visit to the relations of the assassinated Islamic scholar in Zaria yesterday.
Yero explained that he was shocked upon hearing his death, adding that Albani lived a very important life and would continue to be remembered by Muslim communities, for his contributions to the propagation of Islam.
The governor prayed to Almighty God to forgive him all his sins and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
However, he apologised to the late cleric’s relations for keeping them waiting, saying it was because of the exigency of work.
Yero pointed out that the government would do everything possible in investigating the incident, with a view to fishing out the perpetrators.
Chairman of Zaria local government area, Mallam Lawal Balarabe, also yesterday condole with the family and students of Sheikh Albani who was assassinated with his wife and son.
He explained that the State governor was worried about the cleric’s death.
Responding, one of the late scholar’s students, Malam Mai-Shago, thanked the governor for the visit.
He said the late scholar affected him directly, being the governor of the state.
Similarly, the governor paid a visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, at his palace in the ancient City of Zaria.
He told the traditional ruler that he was at the palace to console him over the death of the scholar.
Responding, the emir urged the governor to double his effort on security.
He explained that the security of lives and property was one of the basic needs of the society.
