Yobe: Actors guild resumes activities, calls for youth participation

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (Nollywood) Yobe state chapter has reiterated its desire to unite all entertainers in the state in order to improve in the entertainment industry.

The Chairman Actors Guild of Nigeria (Nollywood) Yobe state chapter Mr. Michael Oshomah, stated this during Valentine’s Day celebration.

The occasion which took place in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital attracted talented Nollywood as well as arewa film makers in the state.

Oshomah said, “Nollywood is an umbrella body that fights for the welfare of actors across the country.

“ This Valentine’s day is an opportunity for us to love one another and exhibit the potentiality given to us by God.” he said.

He said the guild would empower youth in the state to engage in meaningful ventures in order to reduce number of youth roaming the street.

He said that having recorded relative peace, it became imperative to come together and discuss things that would move the industry forward in the state.

Blueprint gathered some of the challenges encountered in the state include culture, partnership with ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture as well as synergy with social development ministry.
