The government of Saudi Arabia in conjunction with National Emergency
Management Agency NEMA had distributed the fourth and the last phase of house-to-house King Salman Humanitarian relief materials to
communities in Yobe state.
Flagging off the exercise at Mohammed Gombe farm in Damaturu on Saturday, the Relief and Humanitarian Officer of the NEMA, Saidu
Mohammed Alkali, said the items were targeted for 47 households who were displaced as result of the insurgents’ activities.
“Today we are witnessing the distribution of relief materials donated by the Saudi government and this is the fourth and the last phase. All the most vulnerable communities mentioned have benefited from all the phases of the distribution”.
He, said the agency considered Kukareta, Abari, Mohammed Gombe farm, Kasaisa among other communities whom were the most vulnerable victims in the state.
Blueprint learnt that the distribution of the first batch of the relief materials was flagged off in December, 2018.
Then, 7,548 food baskets consisted of 25kg of rice, 25kg of beans, among others.
The beneficiaries Bulama Mustapha and Ya Wuri Ali thanked the Saudi government and NEMA for considering them to be part of the gesture, saying it will reduce their succour as they prepare for the new rainy
season.
