Yobe approves N1bn for capital projects

The Yobe state executive council meeting, presided over by Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, yesterday, approved capital projects across the state to the tune of over N1billion.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Mala Musti, said the construction of concrete lining on canals at Mugura (Garin Gada) irrigation scheme got N464,722,725.07, while landscaping of frontage of Yobe Mosque and Islamic centre, got N60,688,582.50.
The sum of N106, 762,500 was approved to transport medical equipment from World Medical Relief and Supplies, Detroit, USA.
Similarly, the construction of the 33KV transmission line of N33km distance linking Bayamari to Geidam and construction of perimeter wall fence at the Medical College of the Yobe state University got N186,705,800.00, and N81,533,986, respectively.
Also according to the commissioner, the sum of N298, 561,725 was approved for the provision of basic structures at the Yobe state University Medical College.
Meanwhile, governor Gaidam, during the meeting, received various awards and recognitions for outstanding performance in the service to humanity.
Commissioner of Education, Mohammed Lamin, and his Health counterpart, Dr. Mohammed Bello Kawuwa, presented two awards each to the governor while that of Religious Affairs, Mohammed Bara, and Agriculture, Engr. Mustapha Gajerima, presented one each to the governor.
Gaidam said the awards and recognitions would ginger him do more for humanity.
