Yobe approves N777m capital projects for health, education

Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam has approved over N777 million for capital projects in education and health sectors, in an effort to provide affordable health care services to the door steps of the common man in the state.

Briefing journalists after the meeting of the state executive council, the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Mala Musti, along with the Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Mohammed Lamin, said the meeting approved the supply, installation, commissioning and training of assorted medical equipment to the three hospitals of Potiskum, Gashua and Geidam at the cost of N679, 380,000.00.

Recall that in June last year, the council approved the sum of N1.8 billion for the renovation of the hospitals.

Other contracts approved yesterday were for the purchase of laboratory equipment tools and reagents for the five secondary schools earlier renovated at Nangere, Fika,Yunusari, Gwio-kura and Government Girls Secondary School, Nguru at the cost of N97,703,650.70.
