Yobe assembly rounds-up 6th Assembly, passes 37 bills in four years

Yobe State House of Assembly on Thursday in Damaturu rounded-up its 6th Assembly after it passed 37 bills in four years.

Speaking at the last setting at the Chamber, the Speaker, Hon. Zanna Ali Machina, thanked the members and the entire staff of the assembly for the cooperation accorded them.

“I wish to thank Almighty Allah, the honourable Members and the entire staff for the cooperation you gave us.  Within the four years of legislation, we had 64 resolutions, passed 37 bills in which 23 were assented by the immediate past executive governor”.

“As we look forward to the inauguration of the 7th assembly, I urge you all to unite and cooperate with the executive and judiciary arms of government for the dividends of democracy in our state,” he said.

The inauguration of the 7th assembly will hold on June 24, 2019 without the incumbent speaker, Hon. Zanna Ali Machina and his deputy Hon. Saidu Baba after they lost primary elections in their respective constituencies.
