Yobe: Buni reassures prompt payment of salaries

Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has reassured that the prompt payment of salaries to civil servants in the state will remain a priority of his administration.

He gave the assurance following the outcome of a survey conducted by ‘Budgit’ an independent Civil Organization, on payment of salaries in Nigeria.

The report of the survey which covers upto July 2022, captured Yobe state as one of the states that is not owing its civil servants.

In a statement released friday by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, governor Buni said his administration has been committed and consistent, and will maintain the tempo.

He reassured that in spite of the state’s meagre resources, “payment of salaries will remain our priority.

“This administration will continue to observe  prudence, accountability and transparency in all its transactions.

“We are committed to ensure that we never fail in payment of salary to our workers” Governor Buni said.

He however urged civil servants on the state and local government pay rolls to reciprocate government’s commitment through hard work, dedication and productivity.

“We all have great roles to play to uplift the lives of our people and create a state of our dream” Governor Buni said.

It could be recalled that Budgit in 2020 scored Yobe state, as the second best state in Capital Budget Expenditure in Nigeria.
