Yobe: Chamber of Commerce applauds Buni over trailer park construction

The move by Yobe state government in collaboration with Nigerian Shippers Council to construct modern trailer park and mechanics’ village in the state has been described as a development that would de-congest trailers in Potiskum as well as create job opportunities to youths.

The President, Yobe state Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and
Agriculture, Alhaji Jinjiri Abubakar, made the disclosure Monday in a
chat with Blueprint correspondent.

“Governor Mai Mala Buni’s move to construct the modern trailer park
and mechanics’ village in Potiskum has shown that he want to develop
the state economically and re-awaken commercial activities.

“Potiskum has one of the largest cattle markets in Nigeria with
trailer body being constructed here. There is no doubt, many of our
youths will gain employment and we commend him for these gigantic
initiatives,” he said.

Jingiri, while calling on trailer drivers to comply with the
authorities’ directives and be self disciplined, also urged
businessmen and women in the state to support the government so that
dividends of democracy could be reaped in all nooks and crannies.

Governor Buni who was former Chairman of the Nigerian Shippers’
Council, had recently met with the Executive Secretary, Hassan Bello,
to conclude arrangements for the foundation laying of trailer park and
mechanic village in Potiskum slated for Wednesday September 4, 2019.

Already, the state government had provided 50 hectares of land as site
for the park in Potiskum, Yobe state.
