Yobe: Cleric urges youths to unite for nation building

Youths across Yobe state have been called upon to unite for nation building as “leaders of tomorrow”.

The newly appointed Chaplain of Damaturu Battalion Council of Boys Brigade Nigeria, Rev. Anthony Lonkerenke, disclosed this Sunday at the investiture of the battalion’s chairman and other leaders in Yobe state capital, Damaturu.

He said as the spiritual leader of the battalion, he would work towards uniting the youths to be good ambassadors. 

The battalion chairman, Mr. Rabo Sunday Pam, in his response sought for cooperation of the members for him to effectively and efficiently discharge his responsibilities.

In his keynote address, the Vice President, Yakubu Bitrus, commended the battalion’s boldness by living up to their task in impacting godly knowledge on the younger ones. 

He called on other two battalions in the state to emulate theit counterpart in Damaturu and elect leaders that would move the state forward.

The investiture which was conducted by Rev. James Bitrus Tada, of Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) Damaturu, witnessed parade display and presence of Christians across the state.
