Yobe CSDP emerges best performing agency, distributes N72m cheque for micro-projects

Governor Mai Mala Buni has commended Yobe state community and Social
Development Programme (CSDP), for emerging the best performing agencyin the federation.

He made the commendation on Friday at a presentation of N72,245,368.00 cheques for implementation of eight community and ten group micro-projects in Damaturu.

Buni, said since the inception of the CSDP, it had assisted in the implementation of 260 community micro projects worth over N1.1 billion and over 500, 000 people in various communities across the state have
benefited directly and indirectly.

“The total cost for the implementation of the eight community and 10 group micro-projects is N72,245,368.00 with 90 per cent of the money
being government contribution, and the benefiting communities contributing the remaining 10 percent.

The projects to be implemented include construction of classrooms and, staff rooms, provision of furniture, drilling of boreholes, tube wells and hand pumps; installation of transformers, and community housing,
amongst others,” he said.

In his remarks earlier, the General Manager of the CSDP, Goni Babagana, said his agency had received tremendous achievements which
translated to their success over the years.

He further said, “the cheque to be distributed were made of four communities development association with four community plans
containing eight micro projects worth N37,570,451 and 5 vulnerable groups with five group development plans containing 10 group micro projects worth N34,674,917” he said

Adamu Bukar who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked CSDP for supporting them to construct the projects by themselves.  He, said each group contributed only five percent of the total project cost which would be executed under direct labour while the agency supervises.
