Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni has commended the federal government for granting approval for the rehabilitation of the Buni Gari-Gulani road devastated by floods.
In a statement by the director general press and media affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, said Buni described the gesture as a huge relief to the government and affected communities plying the road.
He said the rehabilitation of the 90 km road will also boost socio-economic activities grossly affected by the dilapidated road.
The governor further said the approval of N4 billion for rehabilitation of the road with a completion period of 36 months gives the people of the state a sense of belonging.
“We are proud of this commitment and would support the execution of the project in the interest of our people and the business community visiting the state from within and outside the state,” Buni said
The road was destroyed by the floods that ravaged many communities in the state.
