Yobe governor-elect promises to build on Gaidam’s legacies, warns mischief makers

Yobe State governor-elect, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has pledged to focus specifically on consolidating on the developmental strides of outgoing state Chief Executive Ibrahim Gaidam

Buni, who made the promise while delivering his acceptance speech inside government house on Monday after he was declared winner of 2019 governorship election in Damaturu, Yobe state capital said governor Gaidam has truly transformed Yobe.

He further stated that the blessings of Governor Gaidam led to his emergence as All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretary for two consecutive terms.

According to him: “I never sought to become governor of Yobe state, but Allah made it possible. We saw challenges from the opposition party in 2015 but God gave us victory and today am the governor-elect”.

“I extend hands of fellowship to every one of you to join hands with
me and contribute meaningfully to the development of our state.”

He explained that it was only in Yobe State that government was
up-to-date in the payment of salaries, pension and gratuity without
loan from any financial institution, which indicated that the governor has
been prudent in spending.

Governor Gaidam is the longest serving governor in the country who is
now a senator-elect, having served the state for complete ten years as
governor after the demise of former Boss Mamman B. Ali of the blessed memory.
