Yobe govt doles out N6.2b for road construction, schools rehabilitation, others

The Yobe State Executive Council meeting presided over by the Deputy
Governor, Abubakar D. Aliyu has approved the sum of N6,163,018,038.32
for fresh capital projects across the state.

Addressing journalists after the meeting on Wednesday, the State
Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Mala
Musti, said the council approved the rehabilitation/construction of
Government Secondary Scchool (GSS) Kukar-Gadu, Babban-gida, Government Science Technical College (GSTC) Geidam and Nguru respectively at the cost of N2,302,455,269.32.

The state government also approved the construction of 18km Danchuwa-Garin Bingel road at the cost of N3,309,672,767.00 and N400, 890, 000.00 for supply of furniture to the three General Hospitals of Gashua, Geidam and
Potiskum.

Musti further said the sum of N150,000,000.00 was approved for sponsorship of 70 Islamic scholars and 30 officials to perform the 2019 Hajj exercise to pray for divine intervention for permanent peace and tranquility to prevail in the state.
