Yobe: Group distribute relief materials to vulnerable persons

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in collaboration with Brand Live Vision Foundation, Abuja, Wednesday, distributed over 1500 COVID -19 relief items to orphans and vulnerable groups across the 17 local government areas of Yobe state.

Flagging off the symbolic distribution in Damaturu, the state commissioner, Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Yobe state, Dr Abubakar Garba Iliya stated that when Governor Mai Mala Buni came on board he looked at the recovery plan of the state, and established humanitarian affairs ministry that will touch the lives of vulnerable people in the state.

“Last four days because of what happened in Geidam town, the ministry has been meeting on daily basis with about 64 NGOs to talk about how to handle the situation and I’m happy to inform you that Geidam is now stable, people are returning back, the commissioner stated.

Earlier speaking, the founder/CEO, Brand Life Vision Foundation, Hajiya Binta Karasuwa sympathised with the people of Geidam town over the recent attacks and appreciated Yobe state governor for his efforts towards the restoration of peace through the efforts of the gallant soldiers and policemen.

“Our mission is to put a smile on the faces of the less privileged through community engagement, social development, peace building and capacity building,” she said.
