Yobe varsity, ANHC signs MoU to improve health facilities


The Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH) and
American-Nigerian Health Consultants (ANHC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide world class medical care for patients suffering from diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension and heart attack.

A statement released by the Governor Ibrahim Gaidam spokesperson, Abdullahi Bego Friday, said the MoU will see the YSUTH and ANHC work together to provide better management for persons living with those diseases and improve the skills of personnel and care givers.

The statement said YSUTH’s Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Baba Waru Goni signed the MoU on behalf of YSUTH and the Yobe State Government while Dr. Hassan Bashir, a medical consultant and representative of the American-Nigeria Health Consultants signed on behalf of his organization.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Commissioner of Health, Dr. Muhammad Bello Kawuwa and other officials of the State Ministry of Health.

The MoU is part of a series of continuing effort on the part of the YSUTH management to provide quality tertiary healthcare across the state and build on the image of the hospital as a centre of excellence.
