Yola district gets new ruler

A new district Head of Yola District has been appointed by His Royal Highness Lamido Adamawa Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha.
He is a 58-year-old senior staff of the Adamawa State Board of Internal Revenue, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmad Mustafa.
His appointment which took effect from June, 9, 2016, is the 10th in the series of district heads of Yola District to occupy the office.

The first district head was Madawaki Hamman Joda Sudi from 1909-1921; Mukaddas Dahiru Hammanjoda 1921-1922; Babba Lawan, 1929-1934; Galadima Aminu Ahmadu, 1935-1958; Yerima Adamu Bawuro Mustafa, 1958-1960; Tafida Idrisu Muhammadu Maigida 1960-1976; Yerima Adamu Bawuro Mustafa 1976-2007;  Durbi Sa’adu Adamu Bawuro Mustafa 2008-2016;  and Mohammed Ahmad Mustafa 2016-date.
The Yola District has 10 village heads comprising Sebore, Mbamba, Njoboli, Njoboliyo, Rugange, Yolde Pate, Bole, Malkohi, Wauru Jabbe/ Karewa and Yola.
Lamido Barkindo also approved the appointments of two more title holders. They are the Adamawa State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Umar Buba Bindir, as Mufti Adamawa, and Ahmed Mahmud, a Senior Custom Officer as Kachalla Adamawa.
They were all expected to be turbaned by His Royal Highness, Lamidon Adamawa, soon.
