You are a tribalist, group tells Omokiri

Tinubu Support Group (TSG), a pro Asiwaju group, has reacted to comments credited to the ex-president aide, Mr Reno Omokiri, and a Yoruba group known as Omoluabi Coalition, alleging that Tinubu charity does not begin at home.

TSG said dividing Nigeria for almost everything “will not help in this matter. It will only make things worse.”

Reacting, however, to the statement credited to Omokiri, TSG through its Director of media and publicity, Oluwatosin Johnson, noted that, Tinubu is a Pan Nigerian statesman and philanthropist that has long been engaging in philanthropic activities, and will not stop now due to the rantings of a few tribal jingoists.

“We understand that you are a tribalist who seeks to divide the nation along tribal line.

“Asiwaju is a man who also believes he belongs to the North and East just as he belongs to the south,” he said.

The group declared that Asiwaju was a frontline bridge builder and nationalist who would stop at nothing to do whatever would continue to foster unity and peaceful coexistence amongst all entities in the country.

According to the group, “This is a man that has continued to show love and support to all tribes in Nigeria devoid of tribal line.

“We believe his supports to the people of Katsina is also a support to his home.”

The group however urged general public to ignore such gullible statement and continue to support the efforts of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unite Nigeria as one strong nation.

“We believe his support to the people of Katsina at this trying times is worthy of commendation and not condemnation,” the statement added.
