Young Ladies in politics celebrate Amb Nkoyo Toyo on 64th birthday

Women political pressure group under the auspices of Young Ladies in Politics has congratulated Amb.
Nkoyo Esu Toyo as she clocks 64 years of age.

Amb. Toyo, a lawyer, development activist, and politician, served as a member of the House of Representatives, Nigerian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti.

Before she joined politics, Hon. Toyo co-founded Gender and Development Action (GADA), an organisation aimed at improving access to economic and political opportunities for women in Nigeria.

She is an expert in governance with membership in various global women’s rights groups.

Toyo is also one of the conveners of the “10 Thousand Women March” in Abuja, organised by the Women4Women (W4W) and He4She movement to address issues affecting women.

In her congratulatory message to the former lawmaker, director-general of Young Ladies in Politics, Loveth Izekor, said Nigerian women are encouraged by Amb Toyo’s strides in women empowerment in politics and economic sustainability to contribute their quota to national growth.

“At the national inauguration of Young Ladies in Politics in Abuja, which Hon. Toyo attended, she gave her motherly advice and guidance that has helped the growth of the organisation,” Izekor said.

She noted that with the former Nigerian ambassador’s advice and encouragement, Nigerian women and citizens in general were equipped to stand bold and proud to make better choices as regards to good governance and economic growth of the nation.

She wished the celebrant more years of God’s blessings and service to the nation and humanity.
