You’re symbol of royalty, Ganduje tells Emir of Kano

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has described Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the emir of Kano as a credible symbol of royal authority, who is fully committed to the development of Kano in all spheres of human endeavour.

Speaking when he received the monarch at the traditional Hawan Nassarawa Sallah homage held at Kano Government House over the weekend, Ganduje stated that emir Bayero like his late father had lived up to expectation in the short span of time he was turbaned adding that his respect for constituted authorities was a clear demonstration of the fact that he had treaded the path of his father.

According to him, every leader in position of authority is always judged by his utterances and that the monarch has clearly minded his language in whatever he does, positing that where a leader failed to guard his utterances he is likely to make his followers to disrespect him.

He said, “This is the most appropriate time to tell you that you have not deviated from the path of respect, decorum and honour. You are with us and we are with you at all times. You are respecting us to the best of your ability and we are respecting you as expected. When a leader goes berserk, the situation is turning dismal.

“We are counting on the support of the traditional institutions for our free and compulsory education policy to succeed and make considerable impact. it is our prime objective to ensure that we used the traditional authorities in prevailing on our people to support the programme.

Speaking earlier, Emir Bayero had said he was at the Kano Government House to pay homage to the governor as part of activities marking the traditional Sallah festivity, adding that the governor’s giant strides had remarkably transformed Kano into a fountain of excellence in spheres of leadership and good governance in the present democratic dispensation.
