A member representing Ikeja constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu has said the youths of Nigeria need to be more strategic in achieving the Nigeria of their dream.
Hon. Kasumu who was speaking with journalists at the Lagos State House of Assembly constituency stakeholders’ meeting held simultaneously in all the 40 constituencies of the state on Thursday, appealed to the youths to be more tactical and strategic in their approach.
“If here is any vital lesson learnt from the last #EndSARS , it is that young people need tact, insight and more wisdom to achieve the great Nigeria of their dream”, he said.
While appealing to the youth to seize the formidable platform provided by #EndSARS to build a better Nigeria, he expressed optimism that there is great hope for the country Nigeria if the youths could sincerely come together and form a united, positive and patriotic coalition.
The young lawmaker who was the Chairman, House Committee on Youths, Sports and Social Development in the 8th Assembly, said his support for the protest was total but it was unfortunate that what started as a peaceful protest ended on a bad note that almost threw the country into a state of anarchy.
Kasunmu however, commended the youth in his constituency for standing strong and for defending the communities against external aggressors even in the face of vicious violence, advising them to shun violence at all times.
Also speaking at the venue of the programme in Epe, the lawmaker representing Epe constituency I at the Lagos Assembly, Hon Abiodun Tobun sent his condolence to the families of those who lost their lives during the protest while sympathizing with those who lost properties.
He also called on the youths to be more constructive in engaging the government, noting that no matter how fierce even war may be it always end up on the dialogue table.
Hon Akeem Olusola Shokunle, who represents Oshodi Isolo constituency I, while speaking at Oshodi- Isolo Local Government Secretariat, the venue of the programme in his constituency, commended the youth of his constituency for being law abiding during the protest.
