You’ve lived up to expectation, Buhari tells Ganduje

President Muhammadu Buhari has described Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as a trail blazer in the execution of viable projects that would stand the test of time, adding that from all intents and purposes, the governor had lived up to his billing.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, at his palace in Kano Thursday, the president said what the governor did and with the projects he executed in the last six years, he had proven his mettle as a politician worth his onion. He added that his unprecedented score-card has made him to stand tall among his peers.

The president said Governor Ganduje has never made the mistake of abandoning projects he inherited from his predecessor on the premise of ideological differences, adding that his continued posture of continuity left much to be desired.

He said: “I am here in Kano like the previous times that I have visited the ancient city. What I saw on ground was quite impressive. The governor has indeed performed wonders and he really deserved to be commended. His sincerity of purpose was never doubtful. He is not a deceitful person who can abdicate his responsibility on the altar of primordial considerations.

“With the impression I have gotten, I have been inspired to visit the state in future engagements to commission more projects. I thank the people of Kano for their stunning reception. They accorded me and my entourage impressive reception and I am really grateful,” he said.

In his response, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, thanked the president for finding time to pay the courtesy visit days after his official coronation.

He added that the Kano monarchy had placed high premium on ways to support the federal government and Kano state government to move forward in achieving the goals of rapid transformation.

He said the much revered Kano monarchy would fully be guided by the teachings of its forebears who had toiled blood and sweat in making it formidable and highly respected.

He affirmed that it is the responsibility of the traditional rulers to advise and guide those in positions of high authority to do what is right.
